Kenya has a population of approximately 45 million people, with 73% of residents under 30 years old. In the spring of 2016, we established a partnership with the Daho Foundation, a Kenyan NGO, to run a pilot BioSand Filter project in the Ugunja sub county of Western Kenya. This project’s initial goal was to provide BSFs to the most vulnerable community members in this region. The pilot project was a success, so we are currently planning how to scale our impact in Kenya.
